This interactive map was created by The Detail using data requested from the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) and the Regulation Quality and Improvement Authority (RQIA). There are 210 Residential Care Homes across the private and public sector currently registered with RQIA. Residential care is provided across a number of of categories in Northern Ireland including older people, those with dementia, persons with a learning disability and those with a mental health illness. Only those that are run by a health trust and accommodate the frail and elderly are being considered for closure under the current consultation. These homes are marked by a red pin on the map.
