Join Friends of the Chicago River and volunteers as we work at our project site located at the Forest Preserve District of Cook County's Volunteer Resource Center. The project site is located along a lazy bend of the North Branch section of the Chicago RIver. As a partnership forged between the Forest Preserve District of Cook COunty, Friends has been awarded a stewardship management position for this site. Not only do we use this site for implementation of new and innovative ways to protect water quality, but we also will take on monitoring goals as well. Volunteers will engage in a variety of hands-on activities that affect physical improvements to the riverbank and upland areas within the project site.
